Pets (continued)

Hatching is a fun way to get a new pet. When you get your pet to adult you can hatch with another pet. You can combine with another person's pet, or combine two of your own. Hatching is a good way to get a great pet. Your pet is equally likely to take the appearance of either parent. (The only exceptions are when a crowns pet or retired pet hatches with a gold pet or school pet, or a higher pedigree pet hatches with a drastically lower pedigree pet.) Your new pet takes some talents from both parents, whether they have been manifested or not. Also the talents seem to stay in the same slot. For instance pet A has "may cast tower shield" in the first slot (ultra rare, 4 dots), and pet B has "Health gift" in slot one (rare, 2 dots). These pets combine to make pet C. Pet C has a 4 dot talent in slot one, so we know that is "May cast tower shield" Hatching can be expensive though, and gets more pricey the better the pets are. The lowest price hatch I have ever seen is about 15,000. I have done about 20 hatches in my w101 history, and most cost about 30,000 to 45,000 with my medium and upper end of the spectrum pets. If you do plan on hatching, I would advise you only come to the hatchery after you have at least 35,000 gold, as it is disappointing to find a good pet and a person who will hatch with you just to find you can't afford it. Derby is a fun thing to do with your pet, but I have not done much of it, so I am not going to talk about it.
